Pinball House by CEBRA architects

January 2010

The Pinball House, designed by Danish architects CEBRA, performs similar to that of a pinball machine. Starting from the facade, a broken line from the facade is drawn into the interior of the building, like a pinball, creating dynamic angles to form the balconies and cirulation.
What facinates me about the interior of this house is how the experience seems very two dimensional and graphic. Each element and form of windows, walls, and balconies are defined by an edge of a line when material meets and gives the impression like photoshop’s fill-bucket-ed pattern on the floors and ceiling.
